Exercise tracking software and hardware devices are becoming more and more significant in today’s health conscious world. Jaybird Reign, the fitness wearable was unveiled way back in January at CES has announced that the device will become available at its website as well as Best Buy stores from October 26th for $199.
Fitness Wearable Jaybird Reign
Reign is basically a wrist band that shapes to your wrist. It is made up of soft materials that are available in various sizes and comes with a premium band made of silicone and brushed metal, two sports bands, and a biking ankle strap. Unlike most activity trackers, Reign doesn’t feature a screen, but it is waterproof which means you can take it with you while swimming. The device can go without a charge for up to 5 days.
Jaybird claims that Reign is the best fitness activity tracker in the industry because it’s not just about movement counting but about solving real fitness needs. The fitness wearable is capable of deciphering whether you are walking, cycling, jogging, or swimming and it monitors and measures the time you have spent on those activities. It also calculates how many calories you have burned in the process. It also takes note of the times when you are asleep and indicates how well you have slept. This intelligent wearable doesn’t have to be manually set every time you perform a particular activity, so if you’re heading to bed, you don’t have to manually change the mode to sleep. It knows!
Reign Companion Apps
All the fitness data is viewable initially via its iPhone app and later in December on Android. The details are available to you in a summarized form but you can also dig in to get further details. Based on the information that the wearable collects, it calculates the amount of rest you need for your activity level such as whether you need extra sleep on account of a restless night’s sleep the previous day.
One of the striking features of Reign is Go-Score, which is a value on 100 that indicates if you need to go for an activity spell. Based on your heart rate variations, it can tell if you can push yourself some more in the gym or you need to wind up a little earlier than you thought!
Reign is an interesting addition to the wearable fitness devices segment and it looks like an interesting enough choice for consumers to try out. You can get more details about Reign by checking out their website.
