Casual games are great when you want to take a break from the daily grind of work. They can be played in short bursts and often leave you feeling sharp and refreshed. That said, finding a good casual game can be difficult because, after a point of time, these games become easy to play. Independent game developer Anvar Shirinbayli has published a new game called PORTALZ1 that offers plenty of challenges that will keep you on your toes. Here’s more on the game.
PORTALZ1 – Challenging Casual Game
PORTALZ1 is a simple black and white platformer that has you guiding a white ball across a platform littered with spikes and various other obstacles. You can escape these obstacles by jumping into portals that are splattered throughout the various levels.
The game has two modes in all. One mode is slow paced and easy with more ads than you’d like to see while the second mode is ad-free and super hard. In the Hard mode, the portals stay hidden, making game progress tough as hell.
PORTALZ1 reminds me a lot of flappy bird in its simplicity and difficulty. It is impossible to beat this game, and you can easily get caught up trying to do so.
PORTALZ1 is also really hard to put down, intensely tough, frustrating at times and still fun to play in intervals. I would have preferred fewer ads and a smoother transition when moving between portals.
If you’re up for a stiff challenge, you can pick up PORTALZ1 on Android and iOS platforms. The game is available as a free download but if you want a good game experience, you’ll want to get rid of the ads via an IAP ($0.99).
