Christmas has come early for Amazon Kindle lovers. Wednesday 28th September saw Jeff Bezos, Founder & CEO of Amazon.com make a grand announcement of the launch of a new Kindle family of four, with prices so affordable, you could buy a Kindle even for your baby. You can now preorder Amazon Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch right away to get them as early as next month.
Let’s take a look at the specifications of each of these Kindles.
Kindle
The first one’s simply titled Kindle. It includes some cool features such as:
- 30% lighter, less than 6 ounces
- 18% smaller body, same 6″ screen size
- Most advanced E Ink display
- Built in Wi-Fi
- Over 800,000 titles at $9.99 or less
- Capability to borrow Kindle books from your public library (U.S only)
This makes the all-new Kindle lighter, smaller, faster, and fit into your pocket with ease. What’s even more cool is that it’s so easy on the pocket that you’ll have to shell out just $79 for this product. However, the $79 product will come with special offers and sponsored screensavers, although you can have the ad-free version for $109.
Kindle Touch
The second addition to the family is the Kindle Touch.
It’s priced at $99 will be officially released on November 21, 2011. You can be one of the first few to get your hands on the Kindle Touch if you preorder Kindle Touch right now. Preorder is available only for U.S customers.
Features of Kindle Touch include:
- Most-advanced E Ink display with multi-touch
- New sleek design – 8% lighter, 11% smaller, holds 3,000 books
- Text-to-speech capabilities for audio books and mp3s
- Built in Wi-Fi
- Over 800,000 titles at $9.99 or less
- Ability to borrow Kindle books from your public library (U.S only)
Kindle Touch 3G
Next in line is the Kindle Touch 3G
Priced at $149, it includes much of the same features as the Kindle Touch small, light, touch screen, storage for thousands of books, and more with the added convenience of FREE 3G from Amazon. And just like the Kindle Touch the product will be released on November 21, 2011 and you can preorder Kindle Touch 3G right away. Preorder is available only for U.S customers. This product is ad-supported and if you wish to purchase one without the ad services, you’ll have to pay $189.
Kindle Fire
And finally, the big-daddy of all Kindles, the super cool Kindle Fire priced at just $199.
The Android tablet that’s been the talk of the town for the last six months, the Kindle Fire offers access to Amazon’s massive selection of digital content such as over 18 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, and books, free storage in the Amazon Cloud, Whispersync, access to the Amazon Appstore for Android, a color touchscreen with extra-wide viewing angle, fast processor, and unlimited instant streaming from over 10000 movies and TV shows for Amazon Prime members. Kindle Fire also includes a revolutionary cloud-accelerated browser called Amazon Silk.
Customers in the U.S. can preorder Kindle Fire and it ships November 15.
