Apple users take a lot of pride with their mobile gadgets. However when it comes to transferring stuff such as music and videos from the Mac or PC to the iPhone or iPad, iTunes somehow fails us. Despite the fact that iTunes has evolved over the years, it isn’t the most user friendly application. If you hate connecting your iOS device to iTunes for syncing and file transfers, then consider this premium tool from Softorino called WALTR.
WALTR APP - A Viable Alternative to iTunes
WALTR is a fantastic tool for Windows and Mac that makes media file transfers as easy as apple pie. All you need to do to move your audio or video files is plug your iOS device into your PC. The WALTR app will open up and display your iOS device name with storage availability at the top of the app. (iTunes will also invariably open, you can go ahead and close it.) The media files can then be dragged them from the Mac or PC and dropped onto the blank WALTR interface for immediate transfer.
WALTR is a fast and intuitive app and all file transfers are done amazingly quickly. Once the files are transferred to the app, they are made available on the native Movies or Music apps on your iOs device.
The coolest feature of WALTR is that it supports a number of file formats from MKV, AVI, MOV, MP4, M4V, 3GP, WMV for Video and MP3, FLAC, APE, ALAC, AAC, M4B, AIFF, WAV, WMA, CUE, OGG, OGA, WV, TTA, DFF for audio. This means that you longer have to spend time converting your non-supported media files into the appropriate format and then transferring them to your iOS device via iTunes.
The current version of WALTR does not support WiFi but don’t rule that out in future updates. One point worth noting with WALTR is that if you have iTunes Wi-fi sync enabled and Automatically sync with iTunes enabled on iTunes, any music or video files you upload via WALTR will get deleted. This is because iTunes sync overrides any third party content uploads. To avoid losing your transfers make sure you have the Manage music and videos manually option activated.
WALTR is a premium app that is available for just under $30 for a single license. If you’d like to share the app with a friend you can pick up the double license for just under $50 or if you want to use it on up to 5 PCs, you can go for the family license which is just under $80.
Although the app is pricey you get the advantages of amazingly quick file transfers, support for various file formats and transfer of only the new media files unlike iTunes which does a fresh sync.
