Top-rated CCTV and Security Surveillance Apps for Android Devices

August 17, 2013

Over the past couple of years, Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS have been head-to-head in topping the smart phone market. Although iOS remains the top choice of smart phone users, Android is not far away from snatching the number one spot. Since Android phones have an open-source nature, users can tweak their device according to their needs and liking. This is not the same with Apple phones as the company limits the modifications that users could do. This being said, the market is gradually shifting to Android devices (smart phones and tablets) in hopes of trying their hands on amateur smart phone programming and troubleshooting.

When it comes to applications or apps, iOS prides in its countless available apps on its App Store. Android’s Google Play store, however, is never left behind as it also offers almost the same applications for Android users. In the advent of online stores for apps, application and software developers have doubled their efforts to make a profit from the growing trend. There are thousands of apps available in the App Store and Google Play store, ranging from messaging apps, to social media apps, to entertainment-oriented apps, and even to CCTV security apps.

If you are an Android phone or tablet user and you want to control the CCTV camera systems in your home or place of business, or you want to convert your device into a surveillance camera, then you would find these Android apps helpful:

Some of the app’s latest features include allows users to see what’s happening inside their premises, arm or disarm security panel, watch live and recorded clips from users’ CCTV cameras, among others.

These Android apps would really be of good help to you if you want to secure your home or business. However, you should only take these apps as an auxiliary to you CCTV camera systems. If you want to maximize the security and surveillance systems in your home or business, then you should not only rely on smart phone apps. It is still best to invest on real CCTV camera systems. Having CCTV cameras installed in your home or business will not only help you deter criminals and criminal activities but also help you in monitoring and surveying your investments.
